Questions and Answers
Q: I (or my family member) have long been diagnosed by hospitals with depression or anxiety, but medication results are inconsistent. Does this mean there is 'something unwholesome' on me? How can I distinguish whether this is ordinary mental illness or interference from 'possession' or similar phenomena?
A: First, we do not believe all depression or anxiety is caused by malevolent spirits. Much of the time, such conditions are closely related to personality, formative experiences, or physiological factors. However, if accompanied by the following paranormal phenomena, it may be related to interference from malevolent spirits:
- Paranormal experiences: Such as sleep paralysis, visual or auditory hallucinations, or voices in the mind that do not belong to oneself.
- Delusions of 'supernatural abilities': Suddenly feeling able to see images invisible to ordinary people, know others' thoughts, or converse with mysterious entities (disguised as higher-dimensional beings, guiding spirits, deceased relatives, etc.).
- Brief personality shifts: In rare cases, there may be sudden changes in tone, demeanor, or cognition, as though one has become a different person. When these phenomena appear, the likelihood of malevolent spirit interference is high. Additionally, a more direct method of discernment is to try listening to our incantations. If you experience notable discomfort or strong reactions during listening, it is very likely caused by malevolent spirits and requires long-term treatment through appropriate incantations to weaken their influence and help restore normal life.
Q: What exactly are these 'malevolent spirits' you speak of?
A: Malevolent spirits are usually derived from animal cultivation. When an animal reaches a certain stage in its practice, it abandons its physical body and becomes a bodyless energy entity. Among them, some seek to rapidly strengthen themselves by possessing humans or deceiving humans into worship, thereby obtaining the power of faith to advance their cultivation. Having taken a deviant path, they become malevolent spirits.
Q: How do malevolent spirits act upon the human body? What specific effects do they produce?
A: After possessing a body, malevolent spirits operate through 'opening apertures'—connecting their own energy nodes with certain nodes in the human body.
- Amplifying negative emotions: They amplify a person's negative emotions and perceptions. When this amplification exceeds the person's limit of tolerance, it manifests as depression, anxiety, or phobias.
- Blocking meridians: By opening apertures, they obstruct the flow of the body's meridians, causing physical discomfort or symptoms, yet conventional medical instruments often detect nothing wrong.
- Crushing the will: They fabricate nightmares and create illusions, further breaking down a person's psychological defenses.
Q: If a malevolent spirit is truly on me, can it be made to leave?
A: At the initial stage of possession, a malevolent spirit can leave on its own. However, to prevent the host body from being seized by a more powerful rival—leading to its own efforts being wasted—it usually chooses to merge actively with the person. Once merged, it can never separate from the human body, and there is currently no method to extract it from within. In such cases, one can only use the power of incantations over years to weaken it, allowing it to gradually diminish until it dissipates.
Q: If a malevolent spirit is on me, can you tell what animal it was, or how much cultivation it has?
A: Ordinary people find it very difficult to discern. A proper cultivator should not possess such 'supernatural abilities' to pry into these things. We can only make rough guesses based on certain signs (for example, serpent-type malevolent spirits often appear as dragons in dreams; feline-type malevolent spirits may favor extending claws when controlling the body), but these are mere conjectures and cannot be taken as absolute evidence.
Q: If the issue is confirmed to be caused by a malevolent spirit, roughly how long will it take to recover?
A: Recovery time varies from person to person, depending on three variables: the malevolent spirit's cultivation level, the degree of its fusion with the human body, and the strength of the person's own consciousness. All of these factors are difficult to quantify. Based on experience, with persistent use of the correct methods, one can typically feel noticeable improvement within two weeks to three months. However, to reach a point where the influence can essentially be ignored often requires one to five years or even longer. This process does not follow a straight upward line but shows a spiral ascent—though there are fluctuations, the overall trend is positive.
Q: After confirming malevolent spirit possession, what should I do? What is the primary principle for handling it?
A: The primary principle is: Hold to right faith and right thought; return to real life.
- Abandon the illusory for the real: Firmly refuse any pursuit of 'supernatural abilities,' 'psychic sensations,' or 'higher-dimensional communication.' All such enticements are traps. True advancement lies in clarity and resilience of heart-mind.
- Fortify the heart's defenses: Malevolent spirits can perceive and amplify surface-level emotions in people. Therefore, one must actively cultivate a positive and stable state of mind, focusing on concrete tasks in real life—work, study, household duties, and so on. When negative thoughts arise, clearly recognize that this may be interference; do not follow them, and do not get deeply entangled.
- Persist in treatment: On the foundation above, persist in using the correct cultivation incantations for ongoing treatment.
Q: What is the treatment process like? Why does it sometimes feel like things have 'worsened'?
A: The core of the treatment process is 'using the clear qi from cultivation to expend the turbid qi of the malevolent spirit.' Reciting incantations draws upon Heaven and Earth's supremely clear qi, which, to malevolent spirits, is like searing fire upon ice, causing continuous weakening. Feeling 'worsened' in the short term is a common reaction, for three possible reasons:
- Fierce resistance: The malevolent spirit, in its agony, struggles and attempts to intensify your suffering to frighten you into abandoning treatment.
- Stirring reaction: Like cleaning a wound causes pus to flow out, pain may temporarily intensify.
- Loss of control: The malevolent spirit is about to lose control over certain parts of the body and makes a final desperate strike. As long as the incantation practitioner's heart-intent is pure and the method proper, such 'worsening' is often a harbinger of positive change. One must hold firm conviction to pass through.
Q: Can cultivating the right methods (reciting incantations) guarantee I will never be possessed or interfered with again?
A: It cannot guarantee absolute immunity from interference, but it can greatly enhance your own **capacity for resistance and purification. A cultivator's own clear qi circulates, forming a protective layer that makes it difficult for ordinary malevolent spirits to approach. However, malevolent spirits are everywhere, and especially when one is severely ill, deeply grieved, or mentally fragile, they may still attempt invasion. They may also use various means to deceive people, luring them to abandon cultivation or make errors in practice. Therefore, maintaining right thought and persisting in cultivation is the fundamental long-term defense.
